About me

Laura in Lisbon I’m a freelance journalist writing for national magazines and newspapers. I specialise in writing travel, entertainment, health and lifestyle features.

My work has appeared in magazines and newspapers around the world, including Sunday Times Travel Magazine, High Life, Radio Times, Fabulous, Closer, Stylist, Grazia, The Sunday Express, Conde Nast Traveller, Business Life and The National. I’ve also reviewed hotels for www.i-escape.com and contributed online travel features to the likes of Couturelab.

At the age of 23, I was Footprint Handbook’s youngest author when I sent them a proposal to write a book about Reykjavik. I’ve now written and edited over 20 travel guides and recently contributed to 1001 Escapes, published by Quarto, as well as Dorling Kindersley’s Top 10 Iceland.

At heart, I’m a real city bird. A weekend in Buenos Aires would trump a week in the Pampas anytime – but that’s not to say that I don’t like to explore. I get excited about new things, trends and openings, and I’m always on top of the new happenings in the travel industry. Get in touch if you want to know more!

Every week, over 10 million people read the stories that I write, whether that's in national magazines, contract publications, client work or creative doodling.

I've also edited magazines for big blue chip companies, written successful plays and am great at project work.

Oh and I'm gosh-darn reliable - I don't miss deadlines, I don't do typos and I'm fun to work with. That's a promise.
